About Gromberg & Goldini
Gromberg & Goldini play soundtracks for your mind cinema. They bring the 70s/80s vibes back today, fusing elements of disco, pop and synthwave into grooves that blend with deep, harmonic melodies into a spherical sound. The story of Gromberg & Goldini started at a Miami flea market in 2006 when the two musicians met at a stall who sold inventory from scrapped ocean liners. They didn’t know each other back then but began to argue about an old box with Ampex audio tapes both were interested to buy. None of them was willing to step back, so they finally agreed to buy the box together. Months later, when they listened to the recordings in Berlin's SuSuStudios, basic tracks and sound fragments from a forgotten decade filled the air. They started to research on the tape origins and discovered a vintage fanzine with an article about entrepreneurs producing a movie settled in the 80s Jet Set scene. But it seemed a curse followed everyone contributing to the movie as some team members disappeared under circumstances not clarified to date. After shootings in the Bahamas, the remaining crew hit a plane taking the filmed material with them. On their way home, the plane suddenly vanished from the radar and all passengers and movie material got lost... but apparently, not the audio recordings. With respect to the mystery connected with the movie, Gromberg & Goldini hide their identities to let the music speak. One by one, they release songs with fragments from the lost soundtrack to tell stories from a world which is long gone - but not forgotten.
